The University of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Technology are collaborating on a special edition of @pgh.café as one of the signature events of Science2001.  This recruitment event is designed to connect some of the region's best science graduates with local employment opportunities, primarily in biotech and other science-related companies.

The format for @pgh.café features several unique twists.  The environment is that of a "coffee bar," an interactive setting that's ideal for mingling and promoting small group conversation.  Specialty coffees and other light refreshments, informal seating arrangements, and background music add to an atmosphere of quiet enjoyment.

Even more distinctive is the degree of corporate participation and enthusiasm that previous sessions of @pgh.café have been known to attract.  The event is specifically targeted to company executives, research and development staff, and other senior leadership--individuals who possess the capacity to promote a company's vision and employment opportunities.  In turn, the employers gain direct access to an incredibly deep pool of Pittsburgh scientific talent, ranging from graduates of undergraduate science programs through post-doctoral students and fellows qualified to undertake advanced R&D at the cutting edge of scientific inquiry.
